Yerevan violated the agreement of the Moscow meeting - Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry
Baku/13.10.20/Turan: The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry denied the statements of the Armenian Foreign Minister made at a briefing in Moscow.
During his official visit to the Russian Federation, Manatsakanyan traditionally distorted the situation around the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in order to disorient the international community, the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.
Over the past two years, the current political and military leadership of Armenia has purposefully taken steps to aggravate the situation. Including provocative statements that seriously undermined the negotiation process, leading it to a dead end.
Vivid examples of this: the statement "Karabakh is Armenia, point", as well as the military concept "New war - new territories", the provocation in Tovuz in July 2020, the settlement of Lebanese Armenians in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
The attack by the Armenian Armed Forces on Azerbaijan on September 27 was another destructive step of Yerevan.
Azerbaijan has taken appropriate steps within the framework of the right to self-defense in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter. As a result, a number of Azerbaijani territories were liberated from the Armenian occupation.
“Unfortunately, the Armenian side traditionally resorted to terrorist tactics and intensively shelling the civilian population and civilian infrastructure of Azerbaijan, including settlements and people far from the conflict zone. Since September 27, as a result of the Armenian shelling, 42 civilians of Azerbaijan have been killed, 206 more wounded, 1,479 houses, 66 apartment buildings and 241 infrastructure facilities have been destroyed.
Showing goodwill, the Azerbaijani side responded positively to the appeals of the Russian Federation, taking part in a meeting of three ministers in Moscow, supporting the ceasefire regime.
However, the Armenian side violated the agreement by firing at the Azerbaijani doctors who were collecting the bodies of the Armenian military near the village of Sugovushan in the Terter region, seriously wounding the Azerbaijani medical worker.
On October 11, at 2 am, the Armenian Armed Forces fired a ballistic missile at Ganja, destroying a multi-storey residential building, killing 10 civilians, including children.
The Azerbaijani side considers this approach unconstructive, violating the norms and principles of international law, UN Security Council resolutions, OSCE resolutions, as well as the agreement of the Moscow meeting, the Foreign Ministry said. –06D-
