ZDF has biased reporting on the Karabakh conflict appealed
Baku / 13.10.20 / Turan: The German Research Center for Southeast Europe and the Caucasus (SOEK) filed a complaint against the ZDF TV channel for biased reporting reporting the children's news program "logo!".
According to the press release of the center, in the video report, the Research Center filed a complaint with the ZDF against the program because of the “incorrect and tendentious video” about the territorial conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh. Among other things, it makes a “factual false statement”. “Why are there battles in Nagorno-Karabakh?” “False and tendentious information” was transmitted.
Center co-founder, political scientist Dr. Johannes Christian Henrich wrote on his Facebook page that he was "shocked by the video about the conflict."
The report said that, "the Armenians succeeded to prevent the military aggression of Azerbaijan."
In fact, Armenian and Russian troops invaded the territory of Azerbaijan, Henrich said. “Even the UN Security Council adopted four resolutions condemning Armenia and calling on it to renounce its illegal occupation. “Is your editorial board above the UN's legal opinion?” Henrich writes.
"For what reason is the TV presenter or editorial board so one-sided and ignore the international legal situation?" he asks.
The bias is noticeable even in the pictures that accompanied the report. “Armenians are shown with neutral or friendly faces, while Azerbaijanis are unsympathetic and aggressive,” he said. -02B-
