Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Wants to Close the "Russian House" in Baku
On February 6, pro-government media reported 6 that Azerbaijan is demanding the closure of the “Rossotrudnichestvo” representation in the country, as this organization is not registered in Azerbaijan. Requests from Turan agency to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan to confirm this information went unanswered.
At the same time, the head of “Rossotrudnichestvo”, Evgeny Primakov, confirmed to Russian media that this is indeed the case. According to him, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Russian Embassy in Baku, and the “Rossotrudnichestvo” representative office in Baku have "repeatedly appealed the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan with requests for assistance in registration." However, all these appeals went unanswered, Primakov told RIA Novosti.
It seems that Baku has decided to start exerting pressure on Moscow, which refuses to take responsibility for the downing the AZAL passenger plane over Grozny on December 25. It can be confidently said that official Baku will not stop here and will escalate the situation, demanding that Russia acknowledges its responsibility for the crash and compensates for the loss.
