We did not allow this, I consider it a great achievement. The head of state, Ilham Aliyev, stated this in his address to the people.

During the negotiations - for about 30 years, some Western circles supported the position that Lachin should be given to Armenia and this made Armenia's position even more irreconcilable and the Armenians pursued a policy of settling this region.

During the negotiations, Azerbaijan was proposed to be returned at the first stage 5 regions, and at the second stage - the Kalbajar and Lachin regions, with the exception of the Lachin corridor. Each time the Armenian side raised the issue that if these 7 regions are returned to Azerbaijan, then the issue of the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh must be found simultaneously.

«I can say that over the course of these 17 years, from various places, from external circles, we have repeatedly received signals that we will take five regions now and be content with it. ‘You were defeated in the war, and Armenia won. - I mean the first Karabakh war. - Accept reality. The five regions that you are now promised are also a big deal, you get them, and let Lachin and Kalbajar stay for later, when you grant independence to Nagorno-Karabakh, then some of these regions can be returned to you,’ they said so,»  said Aliyev.

"A new reality has emerged in our region. We have created this reality. Azerbaijan has created this reality. We drove the enemy from our lands. We have implemented the UN Security Council resolutions. These resolutions have remained on paper for 27 years."

“The day will come when the Armenians and Azerbaijanis living in Nagorno-Karabakh today, who will definitely return there, will again live in good-neighborliness. There are logistical issues, transport issues, energy security. We will consider all these issues. Unlike the Armenian leadership, we have a strategic vision, it has already been formed, "Aliyev said.

He sharply criticized France for being biased. "How many years has France been the co-chair of the Minsk Group? Has it done anything? Has it taken a practical step to resolve this issue? And now the French Senate is adopting a resolution to recognize Nagorno-Karabakh. If you like them, then give the city of Marseille, change its name, create a second state for them there," Aliyev said.

Further, Aliyev listed the number of equipment of the Armenian army destroyed during the war:

Anti-tank weapons - 53 units, Smerch - 4 units, Grad - 97 units, Uragan - 2 units, MLRS - 1 unit, TOS flamethrower - 1, S-300 anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) - 7 launchers. If we calculate the cost of only the specified equipment, then we can see what a powerful blow we inflicted on the Armenian army. Thus, there are 7 launchers, 1 S-300 radar and 2 S-300 detection stations. Radar station Defense - 1 unit, SAM TOR - 5 units, SAM Osa - 40 units, SAM Kub - 4 units, SAM Krug - 1 unit, SAM Zastava - 14 units, SAM S-125 - 2 units, unmanned aerial vehicles - 22 units, Elbrus operational-tactical missile system (OTMS) - 2 units, ballistic missile - 1 unit, Tochka-U missile system - 1 unit, electronic combat - 5 units, command and staff vehicle R-142 - 2 units, radar station Sky-M - 1 unit, various radars - 7 units, electronic warfare system Repellent - 4 units.

Enemy vehicles destroyed and taken as a trophy:

Self-propelled artillery mounts Akatsia and Gvozdika - 28 destroyed, 5 taken as a trophy. Cannons of various calibers - 315 destroyed, 37 taken as war spoils. Mortars - 63 destroyed, 62 taken as trophies. Special vehicles - 10 destroyed, 93 taken as trophies. Grenade launchers - 178 were taken as a trophy. Tractors - 10, anti-aircraft guns Shilka - 5 were taken as a trophy. Small arms - 1380 small arms were taken as a trophy. 7 command posts, 11 ammunition depots were destroyed. Tanks - 287 were destroyed, 79 were taken as trophies, 366 tanks in total. The list goes on. Infantry fighting vehicles - 69 destroyed, 47 taken as trophies. Su-25 - 5 aircraft were destroyed. Trucks - 252 were destroyed, and 270 taken as war trophies.

"There is no Armenian army, we destroyed it! Armenia is bankrupt without an army and without money. They do not name the number of their killed, hiding the truth. The time will come, we will name these figures," Aliyev said.

He expressed satisfaction with the implementation of the agreement on November 10, noting that the Azerbaijani refugees under the control of the Office of the UN High Commissioner will return to Nagorno-Karabakh.

Aliyev also touched upon the restoration of all economic and transport links in the region, highlighting the restoration of transport links between Nakhchivan and the rest of Azerbaijan,

"Azerbaijan is connecting with Turkey. Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iran and, if it wants, Armenia can also connect to this corridor. Thus, a new five-sided cooperation platform can be created in the region. I have already brought this idea to the presidents of Russia and Turkey. Both Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Vladimir Putin reacted positively to this.

The railways of Armenia belong to the Russian railways, 100 percent. Therefore, we are discussing this issue not with Armenia, but with Russia. And what is there in Armenia that would belong to her? Armenia is not a subject, but an object of international relations. It lost a historic chance, was unable to become an independent country, and missed economic opportunities due to the occupation.

Where are you, Armenia? Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan is bypassed. Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum too. TANAP too. Today we supply our gas to Europe. You, Armenia, could make money. Part of the pipeline could be in your hands. You would receive funds for transit. What have you deprived yourself of ?! Was it worth it? This occupation, enmity, feelings of hatred towards their neighbors led them to this situation. Your train has left, but if you grow wiser, if you behave well, we'll see," he said.

I consider myself a very happy person, because this Victory demonstrated our spirit, unbending spirit. It showed that the Azerbaijani people were never going to put up with such a situation, and the whole people - young and old, those who left these lands and lived with the dream of returning, representatives of the younger generation who have never been to these lands, but come from there, lived one dream. We all lived one dream and realized it. All our dreams have come true today.

A new era begins for our country. A new era of creation, an era of development, an era of restoration of our liberated territories. I am absolutely sure that the Azerbaijani people during this period will show unity, solidarity and will demonstrate strong will. Having united again, the Azerbaijani people will do everything possible to restore the destroyed cities and villages. From now on, we will live as a great and proud people.
