Zakharova promises to support dialogue between Baku and Yerevan
Moscow / 12.12.19 / Turan: According to RIA-Novosti, Russia will do everything so that the dialogue on the Karabakh issue continues constructively and the parties can reach a mutually acceptable solution. According to RIA-Novosti, said today at a briefing in Moscow Russian Foreign Ministry representative Maria Zakharova.
She did not agree with the opinion that the positions of the parties are “incomparable” or further dialogue between the parties is impossible. “The fact that the positions are different is obvious, otherwise there would be no negotiation process,” she said.
Russia, for its part, as an international mediator, will make every effort to continue this dialogue for the benefit of resolving an already protracted and long-standing conflict, she said.
"We will do everything to ensure that the dialogue continues constructively and the parties can reach a mutually acceptable solution," Zakharova emphasized.
She noted the role of mediators in the recently organized mutual visits of groups of journalists of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Touching upon the recent visit to Baku by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Zakharova noted that the atmosphere at the talks was “shimmering” and “constructive to beautiful.” - 02D-
