Zelensky revealed that Azerbaijan is prepared to offer an additional bundle of humanitarian aid, encompassing mine clearance equipment
Baku/14.08.23/Turan: President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized through his telegram channel that Ukraine must undertake the task of clearing its territory not over decades, but within a matter of years, particularly by establishing a production hub within Ukraine itself.
In his remarks, Zelensky revealed that Azerbaijan is prepared to offer an additional bundle of humanitarian aid, encompassing mine clearance equipment.
A key aspect of our collaborative endeavors is mine clearance, Zelensky conveyed. He articulated Ukraine's requirement for partner nations to provide equipment and underscored the significance of constructing a production infrastructure within Ukraine to facilitate the eradication of Russian-laid mines. Zelensky underscored the urgency of this task, insisting it be accomplished in years rather than decades.
Zelensky illuminated that a staggering 174 thousand square kilometers of Ukrainian territory pose potential mine and unexploded ordnance threats. Elaborating further, he shared that Ukrainian bomb disposal experts identify hundreds of explosive objects each day. Zelensky affirmed that bolstering the arsenal of mine-clearing machinery and specialized drones will significantly expedite security restoration. He conveyed gratitude to every nation lending assistance.
He also lauded the dedication of Ukrainian mine clearance specialists, divulging that 133 sapper detachments were actively deployed across the nation on August 12, with significant concentrations in the Kherson, Kharkiv, and Donetsk regions.
Acknowledging the recent steps taken by Germany and the Netherlands for Ukraine's enhanced security, Zelensky conveyed the importance of sustaining a narrative of unwavering international support that reinforces Ukraine's pursuit of normalcy amidst Russian challenges.
Preceding this, the Azerbaijani government unveiled a fresh aid package for Ukraine, encompassing mechanized mine clearance apparatus and the facilitation of training programs for sapper teams.--0--
