1.3 tons of drugs seized in Azerbaijan in January-February 2023
Baku/16.03.23/Turan: 2035 facts of drug crimes were revealed in Azerbaijan inJanuary-February 2023, the report of the State Commission for the Fight against Drug Addiction and Drug Trafficking.
1,351 kg of narcotic drugs were seized from illegal trafficking, including 434 kg of heroin, 804 kg of marijuana, 58 kg of psychotropic substances, etc.
During the reporting period, 1,194 people were brought to criminal responsibility for drug trafficking. Of these, 20 are citizens of foreign countries: 10 – Iran, 6 – Turkey, 2 – Russia, 2 – Georgia.
Over 32 kg of various drugs were seized from foreigners.
48 crimes were committed as part of groups from which 230 kg of drugs were seized.
In monetary terms, the amount of seized drugs and psychotropic substances amounted to 54 million 292 thousand manats, or 31 million 936 thousand dollars. ---05B---
