Baku / 17.01.21 / Turan: Over the past day, 322 new cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in Azerbaijan, 845 people have recovered, 11 have died, the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan reported on January 17.
The total number of infected reached 227,273, of which 215,263 were cured, 3009 died, 8996 active patients are continuing treatment.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,318,193 tests for coronavirus have been conducted, including 6,776 in the last 24 hours.-0-

On December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), on a Baku–Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Ayxan Suleymanlı, stated that the plane had 67 people onboard, including crew members, 38 of whom died. According to him, 26 of the deceased were Azerbaijani citizens.
