A resident of Tovuz region killed during shelling
Baku/14.07.20/Turan: The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported on July 14 that Aziz Izzet, born in 1944, was killed because of shelling from the Armenia part in the village of Agdam in Tovuz region.
“Targeted attacks of Armenians on the civilian population of Azerbaijan and shelling from heavy weapons are a manifestation of fascism and barbarism. This is part of the aggressive policy of Armenia. The killing of an Azerbaijani civilian is a bloody crime,” the reads then statement of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
The Armenian armed forces shell settlements, threaten the population, cause serious damage to the economy, property and infrastructure of civilian facilities. Thus, Armenia grossly violates the norms of international humanitarian law, including the 1949 Geneva Conventions.
“We urge the international community to react harshly to attacks on the civilian population of Azerbaijan and condemn these actions of the Armenian side,” the statement of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said. -06D-
