Baku/16.09.23 /Turan: A serviceman of the Azerbaijani army, Agayev Rufat Khanahmed oglu, killed as a result of careless use of weapons, the country's military department reported. According to the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, Agayev died "as a result of a shot fired due to a gross violation of the rules of handling weapons." In fact, an investigation is underway, the agency further noted.
According to the Caspian Defense Studies Institute (CDSI – Caspian Institute of Military Studies), in January-July 2023, the irretrievable losses of the sector and security of Azerbaijan amounted to 44 servicemen.
At the same time, 9 people died in combat conditions, the rest of the losses were not combat.----06D----

As part of the struggle against illegal migration in Baku city, operative actions were carried out at different addresses. The Interior Ministry reports that employees of the Department for Combating Illegal Migration identified and detained 34 foreigners without documents giving the right to reside and stay on the territory of Azerbaijan.
