Accident statistics in the first half of 2024
In January-June 2024, 681 fewer road accidents occurred in the country, or by 12.7% less than in the corresponding period of 2023. At the same time, the number of victims of natural disasters decreased by 11.8% to 931 people, the message of the State Committee of Azerbaijan. According to the same source, 333 people were killed in car accidents and 598 were injured. 86.5% of road accidents occurred on the territory of settlements. 74.5% of the dead and 73.2% of those injured in road accidents are men.
There were also 13 fatal or bodily injuries as a result of drunk driving in a car. As a result, 5 people were killed and 9 were injured.
