Activist Latif Mammadov detained after critical post addressed to President of Azerbaijan
Baku/12.07.23/Turan: Public activist Latif Mammadov was detained last night after he wrote a critical comment in social networks about the statements of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev about the events in Seyudlu.
According to close activists, persons in civilian clothes took him away in an unknown direction and by noon on July 12 it was not possible to clarify his fate.
In turn, the employee of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Nurlan Aliyev told Turan that Mammadov was invited to the police body on the basis of the received appeal, an investigation is underway.
It ought to be noted that President Aliyev, at a government meeting on July 11, although he stated the validity of the concern of the residents of Seyudlu about the activities of the gold mining enterprise, but at the same time, justified the actions of the police to violently disperse the protest action of the villagers. -21B-
