Activist Teachers Reinstated at Work
Baku / 09.26.17 / Turan: Aflatun Ahmadzadeh and his wife Ulker Ahmadzadeh, who were dismissed from work in the Neftchala district, were reinstated by a court decision in their positions, A. Ahmadzadeh told Turan.
"Five months ago we challenged the school principals' decision to dismiss us from work in court. Finally, on September 25 the court found both orders of the principals unreasonable," A. Ahmadzadeh said. The court also decided to pay the teachers their five-month salary.
A. Ahmadzadeh and U. Ahmadzadeh will continue their work at School No. 1 in the Mayakkend village and at the Nizami Ganjavi school in Neftchala, respectively.
In April, they were dismissed from their jobs in connection with political activities and participation in opposition rallies. They were charged with "conducting political conversations at school" and "disrupting the educational process."
A. Ahmadzadeh is also chairman of the Neftchala district organization of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan. -06D

The court ordered the property be returned to its rightful owner, Samaya Aliyeva. However, the Ministry of Justice intervened, citing a presidential decree from July 1, 2004, which approved a state program for improving the living and working conditions of refugees. Under this directive, refugees without alternative housing cannot be evicted until they are provided with a replacement residence by the Executive Authority.
