Baku/22.02.21/Turan: After a 13-day break, Afghan Sadigov was again introduced into the stomach for forced feeding in the medical institution of the Penitentiary Service. This was reported by his wife Sevinj Sadigova.

“He is given an anesthetic injection and a probe is sewn to his lip so that he does not move. This is infernal torment for the hunger-strike Afghan,” Sadigova said.

Afghan has been refusing food for 110 days, if he is not released, he will die, because he does not refuse hunger strike, she said

As a reminder, the founder of the Azel. TV Afghan Sadigov was arrested on charges of extortion through threats in May this year. On November 3, the court sentenced him to seven years in prison. Since November 4, he went on a hunger strike in protest, considering the sentence unfair. On January 28, the appellate court reduced the sentence to 6 years in prison. Local human rights activists recognized him as a political prisoner.

The second representative of the media, who is on hunger strike in prison in prison number 1, Polad Aslanov, was visited by representatives of the Red Cross the day before, his wife Gulmira Aslanova said.

“They told me that Polad was kept in a cold room and drew the head of the colony to this, and he promised to resolve the issue with the room. However, Polad will be in quarantine for 14 days, so there will be no meetings or phone calls,” Aslanova said.

She is concerned about her husband's condition, as he has been on a hunger strike for more than three weeks and being kept in a cold room can lead to a sharp deterioration in his condition.

On November 16, 2020, the founder of the website xeberman.com, Polad Aslanov, was found by the court guilty of espionage for Iran and sentenced to 16 years in prison. The state prosecutor asked to be sentenced to 17 years.

On February 15, the Baku Court of Appeal rejected Polad Aslanov's complaint, upholding the verdict. By that time, he had already been on a hunger strike for two weeks.  -06B06-
