Baku/08.10.21/Turan: The opening of the Baku Zoo in the Nasimi district of the capital took place on Friday after many years of reconstruction. Work on the territory of the park was carried out for four years. In the reviewed period, it was decided to move the zoo outside the city, to a larger area. However, this idea was later abandoned and the park was left where it has been since 1985.
At present, the territory of the park has been expanded twice - up to 4.25 ha, and the landscaping area increased. A lecture hall and an electronic guide system have been created.
Also, comfortable large aviaries for animals, an aqua-terrarium, an artificial lake and swimming pools, as well as a veterinary clinic built.
Currently, the Baku Zoo contains 125 species of animals, of which 22 are listed in the Red Book of Endangered Animals. -02D-
