An explosion on a gas pipeline near Hajigabul
Baku/08.08.20/Turan: Late in the evening in the Hajigabul region (120 km from Baku) a gas pipeline with a diameter of 720 mm exploded. The explosion took place far from settlements. There is no threat to the population, the state oil company SOCAR said.
The gas supply to the pipeline was stopped and the fire stopped when the gas remaining in the pipe burned out.
The cause of the explosion is unknown. According to preliminary data, this could have happened due to corrosion, which led to a leak and subsequent fire.
