Appeal of Orkhan Bakhyshly Rejected
Baku / 17.05.18 / Turan: On May 16, the Baku Court of Appeal examined a complaint on the arrest of Orhan Bakhyshly, member of the Popular Front Party, accused of illegal drug trafficking on a large scale.
The appeal was filed against the decision of the Yasamal District Court of Baku on May 9 to arrest him for 4 months.
The Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal. The defense intends to file a petition to replace the measure of restraint for house arrest, Turan lawyer Elchin Sadigov said.
According to him, the activist did not complain about the conditions of his detention and state of health. However, he asked to stop the criminal case.
Bakhyshly rejected the accusation and said he does not even smoke. According to the activists, he was planted drugs by police officers.
Bakhyshly was detained on May 7. The young man was actively involved in opposition activities. Before the rally on March 31, he was subjected to administrative arrest for a period of 30 days. -06D-
