At the trial in the case of Rasim Aliyev’s death
Today the Baku Serious Crimes Court continued the trial in the case of the journalist death Rasim Aliyev’s death. At the trial chaired by Eldar Ismayilov the testimony gave the accused Arif Aliyev and Kanan Madatov. According to the lawyer Fariz Namazly, the testimonies of the accused at the trial and the investigation were significantly different. Today they said they did not consider themselves guilty, and said they came to the scene to drink tea. The process is postponed for January 19.
The bailiffs are not allowed to re-process the independent media and colleagues of the deceased.
Rasim Aliyev was beaten by a group of friends and relatives of the footballer Javid Huseynov on August 8, 2015 in the village of Bailov, and 9 August he died at the Clinical center of the capital.
A lawsuit was filed under the Article 126.3 (deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm that caused the death).
Five people - Elshan Ismayilov, Jamal Mammadov, Arif Aliyev, Kanan Madatov, and Samir Mustafayev are accused of the murder of journalist by a beating. A member of the football team "Gabala" Javid Huseynov is charged with failure to report planned crime. However, colleagues of the journalist and his family believe Huseynov organized crime. -03C04-
