Baku/28.12.21/Turan: The scandalous video blogger Ata Abdullayev was sentenced in the Baku Serious Crimes Court under the chairmanship of Judge Fikret Garibov. The court found him guilty of extortion by threats and sentenced him to 7 years of imprisonment.
According to the charges, Abdullayev extorted money from officials and entrepreneurs threatening to publish compromising information on social networks.
Abdullayev, who has nothing to do with journalism, is known as a performer of provocations against opposition politicians and critics of the government. He regularly started public brawls, insulted the opposition. As a result of such a provocation two years ago, the opposition journalist Tazakhan Miralamli was sentenced to correctional labor. -16B-
