Baku/16.08.23/Turan: An attempt to smuggle about 37 kg of silver was stopped at the "Shakhtahty" customs post of the Nakhchivan Main Customs Department.
According to the State Customs Committee, the silver was hidden in the trailer of a truck transporting "cotton fiber waste" from Iran to Turkey, in transit through Azerbaijan.
During the inspection of the car, 11 silver ingots and 14 silver products of the 990th sample were found, with a total weight of 36,946 kg.
41,436 Azerbaijani manats were also found and seized. An investigation is underway.
It is not reported who drove the car and who owns the transported cargo. ---0---
