Baku/24.05.23/Turan: The wife of the convicted activist of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), the mother of three young and sick children, Aygun Humbatova, was detained at her house, the village of Zira, at 10 a.m. on May 23 and taken to the police station of the village of Shuvelan,  Humbatova  told Turan. On May 23, at 12 o'clock in the afternoon, Humbatova intended to hold a solitary action protesting against the imprisonment of her husband for 10 years.

The action failed, as Humbatova spent the whole day until 18 o'clock in the Shuvalan police station. "They threatened me, said they would arrest me, convict me, put me in a cell with criminals, where I would be beaten. The police demanded that I stop the protests outside the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but I have no other choice.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security informed me that I am not entitled to targeted social assistance. The letter from the Ministry says that a motorcycle is registered in the name of our family, so we have a means of earning money. I will transfer the motorcycle to another name and again demand social assistance. Me and three sick children of political prisoner Agyl Humbatov have nothing to live on," Aygun Humbatova told Turan.

On May 22, she held a protest rally in front of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population with a demand to give her targeted social assistance.

The head of the public relations department of the Foreign Ministry, Elshad Hajiyev, told Turan that Humbatova was invited to the police station in connection with a complaint about conviction of her husband. A conversation was held with her, her demands were listened to, after which she left. There were no illegal actions against Humbatova. "The Ministry of Internal Affairs acted against Humbatova in accordance with the requirements of the law," Hajiyev said. ---0---
