Azerbaijan reveals 199 new cases of COVID-19 infection
Baku/ 07.15.21/Turan: In Azerbaijan, over the past 24 hours, 199 new cases of coronavirus infection were detected, 74 patients recovered, two people died, the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers said on July 15.
The total number of infected reached 337 801, including 331 020 recovered, 4 990 died, 1791 active patients continue treatment. Over the past day, 9093 tests have been carried out. In the last 24 hours, 41,733 people were vaccinated against COVID-19.
During the day, the number of people vaccinated with the first dose was 17,994, with the second - 23,739.
The total number of vaccinated in Azerbaijan is 4,242,727 people, of whom 2,530,767 were vaccinated with the first dose, 1,711,960 people were vaccinated with the second.-06D-

On January 29, municipal elections were held in Azerbaijan, with over 16,000 candidates participating across 118 constituencies. The Central Election Commission (CEC) has already announced the names of the leading candidates on its website. Hours after the election, CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov stated at a briefing that 413 out of 685 municipalities had already been formed, with 7,791 candidates identified as leaders. According to him, elections proceeded normally in all constituencies, and no complaints were received by his office. However, independent candidates and experts claim that there were violations during the election process.

Azerbaijani authorities have detained former Russian judge Elena Khakhaleva at Baku International Airport, officials confirmed to Russia’s Prosecutor General’s Office and Ministry of Internal Affairs. The arrest was first reported by Kommersant and Izvestia, citing sources, and later corroborated by law enforcement contacts through RIA Novosti and TASS.
