The Ministry of Ecology finally terminates the contract with the company cutting down the forest
Baku/15.07.21/ Turan: The Ministry of Ecology has begun the process of terminating the agreement with Beta Tea on the transfer of the forest zone near the village of Khaftoni, Lankaran region. The process will end on July 22, Hikmet Alizade, head of the State Environmental Security Service of the Ministry of Ecology, told reporters today.
It should be noted that eco-activists drew attention to the fact that Beta Tea began cutting trees in the forest in order to create tea plantations. Hundreds of trees were destroyed on an area of six hectares, including species listed in the Red Book.
In the course of the investigation, the fact of cutting down trees in this area was confirmed, said the representative of the Ministry of Ecology Alizade. According to him, work has been stopped. Specialists have calculated the damage caused to nature.
On July 22, the agreement with Beta Tea will be terminated, and officials involved in damaging the environment will be punished. – 06D-
