Classes in Sokhnut-Azerbaijan
Azerbaijani Branch of Jewish Agency Suspends Classes Amidst Escalation of Conflict in Israel
Baku/09.10.23/Turan: In response to the ongoing outbreak of war in Israel, the Azerbaijani branch of the Jewish Agency Sokhnut has made the difficult decision to indefinitely suspend its classes. An announcement made by the organization highlights the deep concerns surrounding the tumultuous situation in Israel and the broader global context.
The official statement reads, "We are all aware of the grave events unfolding in the world, with a particular focus on the situation in Israel. On behalf of Sokhnut and our entire educational team, we wish to inform you that we are temporarily suspending classes at our office."
While the appeal stresses that Sokhnut and its students currently face no immediate threats in Azerbaijan, it acknowledges the potential for disturbances arising from the substantial influx of Arab tourists to the country.
Given these circumstances, the organization has issued a cautious advisory to children, urging them to exercise prudence and refrain from discussing the war openly on the streets to ensure their safety.
This decision by the Azerbaijani branch of the Jewish Agency Sokhnut underscores the global reach and impact of regional conflicts, even in regions far removed from the immediate theater of conflict. --0--
