Azerbaijani Samir Rustamov killed in fighting for liberation of Ukraine
Baku/16.11.22/Turan: During the fighting for the liberation and territorial integrity of Ukraine, an ethnic Azerbaijani, Lieutenant Colonel of the National Guard Samir Rustamov, died.
Azad Omarov, a board member of the "Dostlug" society, said Rustamov blew himself up on a landmine.
"Samir Rustamov was the commander of an engineer-sapper service. His comrades-in-arms blew themselves up on a mine planted by the Russian military. Samir died when he was trying to pull out the bodies of his fallen comrades-in-arms," Omarov said.
According to him, the officer's funeral took place on November 15 in Kharkiv.
The funeral ceremony was attended by military personnel, representatives of local authorities and the Azerbaijani diaspora. -03B06-
