Bahar Energy Employees Complain about Non-payment of Wages
Baku /22.12.20 / Turan: On December 21, a group of employees of the Bahar Energy Operating Company held a protest in front of the company's office (on Zykh highway) demanding a salary task.
A participant of the action told Turan that Bahar Energy was created on the basis of the privatized Gum Adasy OGPD (oil and gas production department). Since May of this year, employees have been given only 10-25% of their salaries.
“And for the last three months, no money has been given at all, and this despite the fact that the company produces 600,000 cubic meters of natural gas daily,” the source said.
According to him, representatives of the operating company explained to the workers that they did not issue money without payments from SOCAR.
This explanation did not satisfy the protesters, since employees of other oil companies receive their salaries on time.
“We do not know if SOCAR is really not transferring money, or is the management of the operating company deceiving us? One way or another, the question remains open,” said the oilman.
“Now, they say that SOCAR will transfer 12 million dollars in the near future. But, we are already at the limit, we cannot face the members of our families,” the oilman said.
SOCAR and Bahar Energy could not be reached for comments.
Let us remind you that the company carries out operations at the Bakhar and Gum-Deniz fields as a subsidiary of Green fields Petroleum, which owns an 80% stake in the indicated fields. The remaining 20% are owned by SOCAR.
The total production from the fields is 4,400 barrels / day. Remaining reserves of the fields are estimated at more than 150 million barrels. –05D06--
