Bakhtiyar Hajiyev claims that he was kidnapped and beaten up
Baku/23.04.22/Turan: Public activist Bakhtiyar Hajiyev claims that he was kidnapped and beaten by unknown assailants. He wrote about it on his Facebook page.
According to Hajiyev, he was seized by 4 masked persons at about 11 pm on April 21, at the intersection of M. Nakhchivani and Z. Akhmedbekov streets (near business center Caspian Pkaza).
An activist was put in a bag on his head and taken away in an unknown direction. He was blindfolded and handcuffed, and wearing headphones.
After some time he was transferred to another car and taken to a dark place. When his eyes were opened he saw that he was in a bathroom.
He was asked from whom he received instructions to write critical posts about the head of the Interior Ministry Vilayat Eyvazov.
When he replied that he did not receive any instructions, he was stripped and demanded to delete the posts about Vilayat Eyvazov and Fuad Muradov (pro-government activist).
According to Hajiyev, they urinated on him and filmed everything that happened on camera.
"I was warned that I would be raped and killed if I continued to criticize the Minister. After that they closed my eyes again and took me away in an unknown direction," Hajiyev said.
He was later released in the dark in a deserted place with his hands and eyes tied with duct tape.
"When I opened my hands and eyes, I saw that I was in a deserted place with no roads, no cars, no housing," Hajiyev further wrote.
After a while he managed to get out of it by asking a driver of a passing truck to pick him up.
The driver told him that this area was near the village of Ramana.
After getting out on the highway, Hajiyev took a cab into town.
"This is a crime at the state level, mafia-like behavior, trampling all moral and common human values," Hajiyev said. On April 22, he appealed to a number of agencies. Hajiyev was invited to the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Ismet Aliyev.
However, the activist was skeptical about the outcome of the meeting, because from the position of the official he had the impression that, as in the case of the police beating of politician Tofig Yagublu, who was accused of beating himself, in his case the same result would happen.
Hajiyev believes that if the perpetrators of a dirty crime against him are not found and punished, the responsibility for this will be on the head of the Interior Ministry.
There was no reaction of the Interior Ministry to Hajiyev's post.-06B-
