Border guards on seized drugs, suppression of smuggling and detention of violators
Baku/01.06.22/Turan: The State Border Service reported on measures to combat smuggling, illegal migration, drug trafficking during the month of May. Thus, 41 border violators were detained last month. Of them, 27 people are Azerbaijanis, two each - from Iran, Ukraine, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Morocco, one each from India, Uzbekistan, Côte d'Ivoire and Lithuania. Also, 230 wanted people were detained and handed over to the relevant authorities.
357 people were prevented from going abroad. 27 people were unable to enter Azerbaijan due to the ban.
Border guards also seized 316 kg 240 grams of drugs and 8010 psychotropic pills from circulation. Smuggling of goods worth 15 million 842 thousand 429 manats, including tobacco products, alcoholic beverages and antiques, was prevented. ---05D06--
