Brother of Ex-Minister Nazim Ibrahimov Arrested
Baku / 03.08.18 / Turan: In Baku, the court arrested Sahib Ibrahimov, the brother of Nazim Ibrahimov, the former head of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora. According to local media, he was found guilty of fraud in a large amount (Article 178.3.2 of the Criminal Code) and abuse of official authority (Article 308). Ibrahimov has been placed in the Baku Pretrial Detention Center No. 1 in the village of Kurdakhany.
Earlier media repeatedly published complaints of citizens that Ibrahimov"s construction company had deceived them. So, dozens of people presented evidence that they had paid money for their apartments, but did not receive them. In addition, they did not get the money back.
Sahib Ibrahimov once co-owned the private television channel ATV, but was forced to sell it.
In recent years, another brother of the former head of the State Committee, Ibrahim Ibrahimov, also had problems with law enforcers. The author of the scandalous and senseless project Caspian Islands was able to get large loans in the International Bank of Azerbaijan and ruined hundreds of millions of dollars.
