Coronavirus detected among Azerbaijanis stuck in Dagestan
Baku / 05.06.20 / Turan: Six Azerbaijanis stuck in Dagestan had COVID-19 detected, the Central City Hospital of Derbent reported. The infected were transferred to a specialized hospital.
“All necessary steps are being taken to treat the infected. Only after treatment will they be able to return to Azerbaijan,” RIA quoted the chief physician of the Central Bank of Derbent, Abdulkafar
Shikhmagomedov.
Currently, about 400 Azerbaijani citizens remain on the border of Dagestan and Azerbaijan, who were unable to return to their homeland before the borders were closed.
Hundreds of people are there in difficult domestic and sanitary conditions. The Azerbaijani authorities let their citizens in batches of 100-150 people once a month, which is clearly not enough.
The situation at the border was the subject of a telephone conversation between the presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan, but there were no fundamental changes. -02D-
