Court Keeps PFPA Activist in Custody
Baku / 01.07.20 / Turan: On Wednesday, the Nizami District Court held an online consideration of the appeal of the Popular Front Party activist Babek Hasanov about his parole in connection with the serving of 2/3 of the sentence.
The court rejected the petition, arguing that Hasanov was imprisoned one and a half years ago in a punishment cell in the Kurdakhany pre-trial detention center for violation of discipline.
The defense considers the arguments of the court to be insolvent and intends to appeal.
Recall that Hasanov was arrested in May 2018 and subsequently sentenced to 4 years in prison in a fabricated case of allegedly illegal financing of the Popular Front Party.
Together with him several more people were convicted. Their fault was that they provided material assistance to the families of political prisoners. -16B-
