Baku/13.06.23/Turan: Astara Customs officials foiled an attempt to smuggle a large consignment of drugs and psychotropic substances into Azerbaijan from Iran.
The State Customs Committee reported on Tuesday that drugs, psychotropic substances, as well as medicines not permitted in Azerbaijan, were found in a special cache under the trailer of the truck.
A criminal case was initiated upon the fact, there are those brought to criminal responsibility, it was reported.
However, the State Customs Committee does not reveal names of the drugs and their volume. Judging by the published photo, a significant part of the psychotropic substances is methadone - 40. -05В6-

On July 17, a safe with 130 thousand dollars and 700 grams of gold was stolen in one of the private houses in the village of Sarai in the Absheron district. During the operational activities, two Chinese citizens were detained while trying to leave Azerbaijan. 17,306 dollars, 9586 dirhams of the UAE and 147 grams of gold products were seized from them.
