Cybercriminals arrested for stealing money from bank cards of 80 people
Ahmed Mammadov and Etibar Veliyev were detained in an operation by employees of the main Directorate for combating Cybersecurity of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. They are suspected of stealing funds from citizens' bank cards.
During the investigation, it was found that these persons posted ads on the Internet for the sale of cars at prices below their cost. Next, they requested the data of the bank cards of potential buyers and asked them to transfer money to the attackers through the ”Card to card" operation. In this way, they caused material damage to about 80 citizens. Criminal cases have been opened on the facts, Mammadov and Veliyev have been arrested.
