Daily rise in COVID-19 cases on the rise
Baku/16.01.22/Turan: Over the past 24 hours, 808 new cases of coronavirus infection (COVID-19) have been registered in Azerbaijan, 369 patients have recovered, 11 have died, the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers said on January 16.
To date, a total of 625,726 cases of COVID-19 infection have been detected in the country, of which 608,514 citizens have recovered, 8,521 have died, and 8,691 are actively ill.
Over the past 24 hours, 9,340 tests have been carried out to detect cases of coronavirus infection.
Also, over the past day, 23,587 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
During the day, the number of people vaccinated with the first dose was 2,256, the second - 2,387 people.
The total number of vaccinations in Azerbaijan today is 11,662,083, of which 5,200,328 received the first dose of the vaccine, 4,714,478 received two doses, and 1,757,277 received a booster dose.–06B-

On Tuesday, rainy weather with thunderstorms and moderate northwest wind is expected in the Baku, according to meteorologists. The rainy weather will continue untill Wednesday evening. The air temperature at night will be +7 to +10°C, and during the day, +11 to +13°C. The humidity will be 80-90% at night and 70-80% during the day. President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony. The invitation, delivered by Member of the European Parliament Michael Bloss at the COP29 climate conference, comes as Ibadoglu remains under house arrest and prohibited from leaving Azerbaijan.
