Baku / 22.05.18 / Turan: After the Baku Court of Appeal yesterday rejected the complaint for the arrest of the PFPA member Mirfeyzulla Seyidov, the defense intends to file a petition for the transfer of the seriously ill activist under house arrest. The petition will be presented on May 23, the lawyer Javad Javadov said.
According to him, on May 21, Seyidov stated at the Court of Appeal that he did not agree with the prosecution and asked to release him because of his grave state of health.
Seyidov was detained on May 9 and the next day the court arrested him for 4 months on charges of illicit drug trafficking. PFPA is convinced that he is being persecuted for political reasons. -16D--
