Eighty-four People Killed at Work in 2016
Baku / 13.06.17 / Turan: Last year the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population investigated 159 accidents at work, the ministry said.
As a result of accidents, 84 people were killed, and 165 more were injured in various severity.
Most accidents occurred in the construction sector (24.2%), processing industry (16.8%), transport (12.4%), extractive industries (14.9%), energy (6.8%) and etc.
In addition, last year investigations were completed on the death of three employees of the transport department of SOCAR and 22 oilmen from the 10th platform of the Gunashli field in the Caspian Sea in 2015.
