On 1 July the Presidium of Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences published the results of yesterday's vote on the election of members and correspondent members of the Academy.
Total 26 academics and 43 correspondent members were elected.
Among academics is the name of a member of the External Relations of the ruling party New Azerbaijan Asaf Hajiyev, who became a full member of the Academy in mathematics.
A sister of the late Heydar Aliyev, Rafiga Aliyeva became an Academician in chemistry.
The state adviser Kamal Abdullayev became an Academician in linguistics and a Milli Mejlis deputy Rafael Huseynov became an Academician on literature.
The composer Arif Melikov became an Academician on art.
The sister of the First Lady Nargiz Pashayeva became a Corresponding Member on literature.
MP Govhar Bakhshaliyeva became a corresponding member on Oriental Sciences. -03D-
