Electronic Security Service urges to change passwords of network devices more often
Baku / 14.08.20 / Turan: The Electronic Security Service (ESS) under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies reported a sharp increase in incidents related to the security of "Wi-Fi".
The message says that ESS is investigating incidents with the seizure of network devices (routers and modems) of users with further interference in the network.
Disregard for the safety rules of network devices is the main reason for intrusions. ESS pointed to the use of weak passwords by users (admin, password, 12345, and so on), or the use of identification data in network names (name, surname, phone number, address, and so on), as well as the lack of software updates.
ESS recommends that citizens choose a long and complex password (10-12 characters, with a combination of upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols) and not share it with other people. –71D-
