Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the border service seized a large batch of drugs

Baku/12.07.23/Turan: As a result of joint operational search measures carried out by employees of the Main Drug Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Goradiz border Detachment of the State Border Service, a large batch of drugs was seized.

Residents of the city of Goychay, previously convicted Ruslan Gasimov, Nurlan Mehdiyev and Elmir Ismailov were detained in the Imishli region as suspects of involvement in drug trafficking,the message of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. 58 kilograms of marijuana enriched with psychotropic substances and 1,030 units of methadone tablets were found and seized from them.

The detainees testified that through the mediation of an Iranian citizen named Seyid, drugs were delivered to the territory of Azerbaijan and then from the village of Garagyuvendikli in the Imishli region were transported to Baku for further sale. In fact, a criminal case has been initiated, a preventive measure in the form of detention has been chosen against the detainees. ---06B---
