Experts have renegotiated the law on the Media
Baku/25.12.21/Turan: independent experts again discussed the draft law "On the Media" on December 24.
Media rights expert Alasgar Mammadli said that Professor Gulu Maharramli, head of Press Club Arif Aliyev, head of Azerbaijan Internet Forum Osman Gunduz, head of "Turan" Information Agency Mehman Aliyev, head of Azerbaijan Journalists Union Elchin Shikhli and lawyer Khalid Agaliyev participated in the discussion.
"At yesterday's discussion of the draft media law, we decided to submit to the committee of the Milli Majlis our proposals on the project in writing. Today we have continued the process of forming written proposals with very valuable persons. Almost every item, every item in the project must undergo a special discussion. It is a long and hard work," said Alasgar Mammadli.
He said that they would complete the proposals by the beginning of next week and submit them to the Parliament.
The draft law "Оn Media" passed the second reading of the Milli Majlis in Azerbaijan. At present, discussions are ongoing on the project.
Experts believe that the project contains reactionary substances that limit the activities of the media. --0--
