First Azerbaijani satellite will orbit on February 8
The first Azerbaijani telecommunications satellite "Azerspace 1" will be launched on February 8, told Turan spokesman for the Ministry of Communications and ICT Mushfig Amirov, the satellite will be launched from Kourou in French Guiana by the launch vehicle "Arian 5 ".
According to the same source, "Azerspace-1" was manufactured by Orbital Sciences Corporation in the STAR-2 platform.
The satellite will operate in geostationary orbit used by Malaysian Measat Satellite Systems, which has been leased to the company Azerkosmos. The satellite will provide high-quality communications services in the regions: Eastern Europe, North Africa, Central Asia, the Caucasus and the Middle East. -03B-
