First Snowfalls in Highlands of Azerbaijan
Baku / 28.09.17 / Turan: Over the past day, almost everywhere in the territory of Azerbaijan, there was precipitation. In several places, rains were of a stormy nature. As a result of precipitation, water content in rivers has increased, according to the National Department of Hydrometeorology of the Ministry of Ecology.
Snow fell in the highlands of the Greater Caucasus. The thickness of the snow cover was 11 cm in Gyryz, 13 cm in Khynalyg, 5 cm in Shahdag, and 2 cm in Lazah.
The amount of precipitation was 1-19 mm in Baku and Absheron, 14-150 mm in Lankaran-Astara, and 7-59 mm in the Greater Caucasus.
According to forecasts of international meteorological services, by Friday morning, precipitation in Baku and Absheron will cease. At the weekend, the weather will be mainly rainless, and the air temperature will rise by several degrees in comparison with the previous days. -06D-

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony. Starting from November 25, dedicated traffic lanes allocated for COP29 conference participants will lose their exclusive status and will be open to all vehicles, according to the Land Transport Agency (AYNA).
