On Monday Baku hosts an international conference on "Fighting Corruption: international standards and national experience." The Forum is conducted by GRECO (a group of countries fighting corruption) and the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA), with the participation of heads of other international organizations.
The appeal of Ilham Aliyev to the forum participants said that the fight against corruption is "the main focus of the Azerbaijani state."
According to him, the fight against corruption, which "is also typical of many countries in Europe," will be one of the main activities of Azerbaijan during the presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
The conference continues in plenary sessions.
Recall that according to the Transparency International report, the corruption index in Azerbaijan is one of the highest in the world for many years. So, in 2013, Azerbaijan ranked 127 out of 177 countries. -03D-
