Heavier charges Against Rasul Jafarov
The investigation brought a new charge against the arrested human rights activist Rasul Jafarov. According to his lawyer Gunay Ismayilova, the new charges are as follows: forgery and misappropriation - Articles 313 and 179.3.2 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. On these charges he could be condemned to 12 years in prison.
The coordinator of the human rights campaign "Art for Democracy" Jafarov was arrested on 2 August on charges of illegal business, tax evasion and abuse of office. On 23 October deadline for his arrest was extended for another three months. Amnesty International recognized Jafarova “prisoner of conscience.”.- 16D-

Last night, three earthquakes occurred along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border with magnitudes of 4.8, 3.0, and 3.8, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Service of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported no information about any destruction or casualties as a result of the earthquakes.
