Heavy rains cause flooding in Istanbul, at least two people killed
Baku/06.09.23/Turan: Heavy downpours last 24 hours in Istanbul caused flooding that killed at least two people.
According to local media, Başakşehir neighbourhood suffered the most. There, in the National Library, dozens of visitors became trapped, who were later rescued.
Before entering Istanbul airport, drivers remain in flooded cars and wait for rescuers. Flows of water also got into the underground, frightened residents and tourists are trying to leave it as quickly as possible.

On January 7, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree increasing the salaries of employees in several organizations funded by the state budget.
