Heavy snowfall in mountainous areas of Azerbaijan
Baku/22.12.21/Turan: From noon on December 21 until this morning the precipitation fell in some areas of Azerbaijan. The snow fell in the mountainous regions. The snowfall was heavy in some areas, the National Hydrometeorological Service of the Ministry of Ecology reported.
The height of snow made up 28 cm in Gadabay, 25 cm in Guba, 22 cm in Dashkesan, 17 cm in Khynalyg and 15 cm in Gusar, Göygöl - 14 cm, Khaltan - 13 cm, Sarybash - 9 cm, Ismailly - 8 cm, Agdere (Ordubad) - 7 cm, Altyagach - 6 cm, Guba - 5 cm, Gobustan, Shamakhy - 4 cm. , Sharur - 2 cm, Kishchai (Sheki) - 1 cm.
Note that the minimal temperature in Baku and Absheron was 5° warm, 5° warm in lowlands, 2-5° frost in mountains, 7-10° frost in highlands, 0-3° frost in Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic.
Earlier, forecasters reported that the weather in Baku on December 23 and 24 will change dramatically, with sleet and snow in places.
The speed of northwest wind on Dec. 23 will reach 15-18 m / s, at times - 20-23 m / s.
The air temperature will decrease by 5-8 degrees as compared with the previous days. Also, the precipitation is expected in some areas of the country.
