Human rights activist Avaz Hasanov has died
Baku/11.26.21/Turan: In the afternoon of November 26, human rights activist and civil activist Avaz Hasanov died suddenly. According to preliminary data, the cause of death is a heart attack. This was reported to Turan by Gasanov's colleagues.
For many years he has been dealing with the issues of prisoners and hostages during the Karabakh conflict, as well as human rights issues. His NGO, the Society for Humanitarian Studies, was engaged in monitoring the human rights situation in the region.

On January 7, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree increasing the salaries of employees in several organizations funded by the state budget. According to the decree, the monthly salaries of managerial and other employees in around 20 institutions (including the Presidium, Apparatus, and Ganja Branch of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, and the Heydar Aliyev Center) will increase by an average of 15% starting January 1, 2025.
