Hurricane Wind Tumbled 20 Trees in Baku
Baku / 25.05.20 / Turan: A hurricane that passed May 23-24 in Baku tore up from the root and tumbled down over 20 trees. This was announced by the head of the Baku Department of Gardening and Plant Protection Orkhan Mammadov.
Another 40 trees bent as a result of the wind and created an emergency.
“There are cases of inclination of trees, or the fall of large branches,” Mammadov said.
The strong wind caused consequences in all areas of Baku, but the Khatai, Nasimi and Yasamal districts suffered the most.
As a result of falling trees, 3-4 cars were damaged.
At the same time, no information was received about the injured people.
According to the Ministry of Ecology, the gusty wind swept almost throughout the country. In a number of places, the wind demolished the roofs of houses and destroyed the roofs.
In Baku and Absheron the wind speed reached 35-40 m / s.
