Baku/05.09.23/Turan: In August 2023, 703 people applied to the Clinical Medical Center (CMC) with complaints of poisoning, Azer Maksudov, head of the toxicology department of this institution, told Turan.
At that, 162 patients were admitted for inpatient treatment, the rest were discharged after primary medical care. 83 patients were hospitalized with drug poisoning, 37 with acetic acid poisoning, 17 with ethanol poisoning, 1 with anaphylaxis, 2 with carbon monoxide poisoning.
Four people applied because of an allergic reaction, and one because of botulism. 16 people turned after a snake bite, another one after an insect bite. Despite the efforts of doctors, seven people, including 6 men, 1 woman died. Six deaths occurred from acetic acid poisoning, one from drug poisoning. -06B-
