In case of violence against women, call 961 - prosecutor's office
Baku/12.08.21/Turan: The General Prosecutor's Office made an appeal in connection with the facts of violence against women.
Psychological and physical violence against women remains a major challenge for a healthy society. Unfortunately, in the first half of 2021 alone, 33 women became victims of crimes related to premeditated murder.
The biggest obstacle in the fight against violence against women is silence. In case of facts of violence against women, urgently call the Prosecutor General's Office "961"! , - said in the appeal.
Local human rights activists believe that the main reason for the increase in the facts of violence is impunity, and they call on Azerbaijan to join the Istanbul Convention. -16D-

On January 7, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree increasing the salaries of employees in several organizations funded by the state budget.
